i doubt that normal wear and tear on a cam would drastically change the performance of the engine, there would have to be serious damage to the lobes to change them that drastically from each other......
anyone know the cam specs for lift, duration, and LSA while we re on the topic???
95 is high for that et what was your 60 foot time???
i went 13.8 at 99. and when my car was running like shit (hitting fuel cut in every gear) it was 15.6 at 89 or something ridiculous.
he said hes going to save up 7 to spend all at once. 7 would get alot more from a 7m then it would a 1j or 2j because he already has the 7m. the money he would spend on the stock 1j could get him a rebuild with forged pistons. id rather have a new engine that i know is brand new and ready to go...
if you never did it before you can run better with practice, but i dont think you did that bad for a totally stock car first time out. what was your mph???
eh, n/a cams are all down hill from 4krpm, turbo cams still make power real good till 5500rpm.
The n/a cams are very peaky, they make alot of torque at 3000rpm but its all down hill from there. the turbo cams make the same torque at 5500rpm as they do at 2750rpm and more in between, there more...
hmm.....spend 7 thousand to swap a stock USED 1j in with a single turbo and some mods, or spend 7k on a 7m and have a brand new fully forged 7m with single, stand alone engine management with pleanty of tuning time, making more power more reliably with more torque and less work........ yea go 1j.
did you wrap tape around the tread?
Borhor what type did you have? im looking at getting those same 278's ive seen them weigh in at like 25lbs but then also seen them weigh in at 39lbs. wana find out from someone first hand.
just another example of hearsay becoming bad information, the 7M doesn't have head gasket or oil pressure issues. the issue with the 7M is the owners. rebuild the 7M, put forged pistons in it and you'll have a motor that will Handel most anything you throw at it power wise. parts are not going...
my dads TC filters are they way, all of the ones that have the condom on the open side of the filter when they come out of the box have Japanese writing on them IIRC back from my Toyota dealership days........
impossible to say who you can beat. just because you have those mods doesnt mean you are definatly making XXX horsepower. There is a horsepower ballpark you should be close to but that depends on alot of things like condition of said motor, tune, weather, barometric pressure, fuel quality...
I THINK YOUR CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK...
WHAT IS "TAKE ADVANCE" AND "NOW PROBLEMS"???????
if you dial down your fuel pressure enough it might, the stock TCCS is going to have a hard time with it, the air flow signal would have to be tuned so low i doubt it would even be a usable signal...
