There's the dick size thing Steve ;)
Yannis: 70 is fine on any filter!
(same warning when it's cold though)
It all depends on tolerances in the Motor Yannis there's no hard fast rule to xxmm=xxpsi.
Yep jazz the throttle on cold oil and you run the risk of popping the rubber seal at the least and bursting the can at the worst!
Either way it's game over and grab a bag of KittyLitter! ;)
Yannis: Steve is talking 100+ PSI so I'd be hesitant using a crimped filter at that sort of pressure and being VERY careful to keep the motor under 2000 rpm till the Oil was warm and thinner! ;)
I had a stuck relief valve in a BBC Oil pump way back and it pumped all 15 litres onto the floor in...
An MBC can be a bit like the Pin in a Hand Grenade! ;)
Start small and work your way up in 1psi increments making sure you have stable boost at each step.
Monitor coolant along the way as well as this will be the first indicator something isn't happy.
LOL Yannis!
I use the Moroso race Filters once the motors broken in and I start revving it as they're a heavy wall can so less chance of splitting a seam. (and they're plain white so no bling)
