Each big carrier has a dept set aside to figure out exactly how to damage the most parcels in the least amount of time/effort!
"Fragile" or "Do not Bend" is taken as a challenge!
DOH reading is important! ;)
No housing = really stupid!
Even with a Housing they'd find some way to damage it!
(I ship 100's of parcels internationally each year and have learnt to bombproof anything I send)
Most shops run pretty close to the edge and all it takes is a few bad debts to tip them over!
I'd be getting in there first thing in the morning and picking my parts in person just in case there are creditors as you'll find you're way down the list and everything becomes "The Bank's"
Jake: Happens a LOT :(
Usually a shop with a good rep gets burnt by racers and this is the end result! (And why I don't do car work anymore I was forever chasing funds)
Vlad: LOL it's great it doesn't make mistakes ;)!
Now if I could get it to post for me......
The only time I could see indexing making a difference is if there was a swirl direction in the chamber on the power stroke, even then I still think it would be unmeasurable on a dyno.
I'd hazard a guess that indexing towards the exhaust is a forced induction thing to shield the Spark from the incoming charge!
If it's blowing out enough that this makes a difference you really need more Zap ;)!
The 6M crank smooths out over 6000 rpm ;)
It's only harsh when cruising at moderate rpm compared to the 7M so I'm guessing it was all done as an NVH exercise.
