    Measure the circumference of the Damper divide by 360 then multiply this by 220. Take a tape measure using TDC as 0 then mark where 220 degrees is on the damper this needs to coincide with 50 thou lift ;)

    If you're line boring/honing the Cam tunnels you need to mill xx from the caps faces then offset the boring bar xx towards the deck surface, this way you end up with round straight smooth tunnels the correct size. ;)

    Rich: LOL yep I'm trying here ;) TW: 10 thou undersize on the Rod and Main bearing journals = 10/10 Anymore than this and you grind through the hardened outer shell of the crank and get into the soft core and the slightest touch will transfer bearing material to the crank and total failure...

    Andrew: The Cressida damper is still a damper it just has a big weight pressed into it so it's worth check for true TDC before you start on the Cams. You'll also need to verify ignition timing once the Cam timing is done.

    There are a bunch of variables that will affect the Cam's true 0 point such as ANY machine work done on the block or head, Belt stretch, Pully wear, Head Gasket thickness and so on. This is why they give you the "220@50 thou" Spec so you can degree them in and when your degree wheel says...

    Degree them per the timing tag so you have a baseline 0 point then go from there (sorry didn't realise you hadn't degreed yet)

    Slide: Pull a Cap and LOOK at the bearing surface if it's torn up and blue it's bad if not it's fine.....

    Don't know how you figure that.... NA will have a very narrow powerband an upgraded CT will make it's power very early and have MUCH more torque. In a lightweight car with low diff gears the Na would be quick but in a Mk3 you'd be struggling against even a mildly modded T car.

    AJ: Very welcome I learned all about it when I made my own billet cam for my old 3.4L Toyota V8 way back when :) No idea why Duane moved it but it's back where it's meant to be now ;)

    is300: Don't tell em it's all internal there's no way they can tell :) 6K for 400cc seems a little excessive though it's NOT going to give you much of an increase in hp but should improve low to mid range torque so the car will "feel" much stronger.

    AJ: Phasing as in where a tooth on the Cam is in relation to the middle hole on the front of the Cam. Move that a few degrees and you run out of travel in the Distributor/CPS adjustment slot before you get the correct ignition timing.
