    Degreeing is only really making sure you have a known 0 point to start tuning due to the variables I listed a few posts back. In this case it will help verify that the Helical gear has been indexed incorrectly to the Pin holes in the Camshaft.

    Slide: Measure it first as ANY work on that is going to be minimum of a grind to 10/10 and if it's been done already 20/20 then nitrided. It would be cheaper to source a Virgin crank.
