Yep don't go nuts installing the fittings or the parts use some liquid pipe sealer on the screw in fittings and it'll be fine. I went to unscrew mine from the block and it wouldn't budge so I put a screwdriver between the fittings to get some leverage and it broke in half.....

Used Transdapt parts in the past and in use/function they're fine. Keep in mind they're cheap cast parts and may break if over tightened. (guess how I know this) Using Canton Billet adaptors now.

The delay is the accumulators filling and is by design. Any of the accumulator mods will address this either Shims Heavier Springs or Solid Rods.

Corrosion on the valve stem from not hitting boost often enough?

Early to mid 80's Fords here used a simple Solenoid IC valve. The early ones have 2x 5/8 barbs the later ones are flange mounts, I used both types with my old Wolf ECU.
