not to mention your rotors are gonna be eaten alive and warped to hell (or cracked if you have cheap crossdrilled rotors).
I've seen what stock brakes can do with good pads, it's pretty impressive...until he had ZERO brakes after his last lap and came into the pits. Boiled brake fluid sucks...
it's a kit car, so the engine choice is yours, I'd love to have one with a 2J in it, might actually have traction...
Porsche 944 is the front engine porsche I was thinking about, quite a few around here, even modded their slower than my car...and about as reliable...
yeah, the bathtub doesn't leak...
in all seriousness, rebuilds on a rotory are quite a bit easier than a rebuild on a 7M (very few moving parts), but they have to be done much more often (if you're pushing tons of power and don't want to have any issues, a local guy rebuilds his every 50K...
depends on how deep they have to cut, the hardening is not just on the surface...
while you have it torn apart, you might as well rebuild the head as well...
ok, gonna try and be the only helpful person here (and I'm really f-ing bored right now, so got nothing better to do)
Size of the turbo only correlates to more lag, larger turbo = more lag.
The largest turbos all be require much higher rev limits to use them effectively. That's where your...
7M is fine, 1J is fine, 2J is fine, FFS the damn 1G is fine!
not many motors out there can do double stock horsepower on stock internals, not to mention the mind blowing durability of the 2J...
there is a reason MKIV's are legends, and it's the motor...
won't fit in a metro...
now half of a 1J or 2J manifold bolted onto a 1 litre 3 clinder geo motor with the turbo off the 1J or 2J on it...that sounds like fun
in all honesty, I'd put it in one of those front engine porsches they had here, since the motors in em suck anyways...
the solstice shifter is typical GM, the tranny is installed with the shifter bas plate and everyhing on there, and then the actual shifter is bolted to that (notice the flat spot and hole?)
It won't be way too short, just make a rod to lengthen it and bolt it on...
I like my shift knob, round and black, but I switch back and forth between than and the stock knob (depends on my driving, if I'm serious, I go for the ball)
also got marlin crawler bushings, best shifter mod you can do...
it's NOT gonna happen, you shouldn't be running the car hard until it's warmed up anyways!
way to destroy your turbo...
if you make it think it's cold, the timing won't be retarded, stock pistons don't like detonation...
well, it does need to be converted to push type, but they sell a kit to do it last I knew...
it's also much cheaper...
IJ would know more on this I think though...
yeah, but it might save some from the crusher...
might also force the aftermarket companies to start remaking thing for us, HKS used to make tons of stuff for us, and now they don't make jack...
