Same exact thing I was thinking while reading it.
A joke is only funny when the punchline is unexpected, and I never expected something this cracked from IJ.
I shift under 3K. Everyone says a larger exhaust would make me lose torque, but it seems to be the exact opposite and it pulls much better from 2K to 3K when the turbo kicks in.
I don't drive like a pansy all the time either.
Physics yes, but real world application is another thing. Same amount of money for two builds, on stock rear suspension other solid axle. I bet the stocker would win.
It's not a big enough limitation. The horrible reputation supras get for running shit times with huge HP is 100% setup...
Retractor Control Relay under the dash, replace it. Had the same issue and would have to jump the relay under the hood and then I only had high beams.
It's a blue box about the size of a pack of cigs, sorry for the blurry pic, under the dash sucks.
It's been a while since I've read how they worked, but doesn't the VPC mess with the signals to the ECU like the SAFC would and could cause a major conflict?
How do you know the walbro is shot?
You're basicly using two piggybacks, there was an HKS unit that was supposed to function with the VPC to fine tune it like the SAFC so that might be the issue as well...
We could argue for days at this, but if you're lifting the front tires you've got more than enough traction.
Another comparison was the monster turbo camaro vs titan in Houston. Titan had to let off because they lifted the front too high and lost. IIRC they where running simular trap speeds...
Still gotta loosen the jam nut, and the shaft will just turn. I had to remove the pin ONCE because the shop that did my clutch had tons of preload and I couldn't rotate the shaft. Was a major PITA being stuffed under a dash...
Was on a mustang, hence the low HP numbers  I've found more, but just look around. There is very little reason not to run a high flow cat. I think Mike said it, you're either being cheap or your running leaded gas...
