The SST to check the actuator is $178? You can probably get a used actuator from another member for cheap... Like $20.
Instead of all that other work, swap the actuator and see if the problem is resolved. If it is not, then you are out $20 and have a spare actuator. Then, you can put the...
Make a list of what you "want."
Make a list of what you can "afford."
Make a list of the "while you are there" tasks/work.
Then take your lists and combine. Note when you expect to have the parts available to do everything in that group together. For instance, you are replacing the...
Thanks Rakkassan, I saw the EPC http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291420/catalog.aspx?F=6704&P=1 link you had. I also grabbed the parts list and pricing from www.toyodiy.com --- http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_199101_TOYOTA_SUPRA_MA70L-BJMVZA_6704.html
This other parts catalog lets me...
I looked in the other 2 pages of the thread and could not find the link to the parts diagram (the break out)... Wanted to get a list together and see what the Toyota vendors could do, so that I can get to this project soon
Please post the link to the door/window parts diagram where I can see...
Also... If you know you will eventually do some suspension work (ball joints, struts/springs, etc), or anything that affects alignment... Then get a "Lifetime" alignment. I use Firestone and it costs ~$145 for a lifetime alignment. I take the cars in every 6 months and it pays for itself in...
I'd be looking for any wires making contact with ground or other wiring that it should not be coming in contact with. maybe around any holes in the firewall that wires come thru... make sure that the insulation on wires look good. It may even take unwrapping the different harnesses in areas...
I have had similar issues in the 90 I recently sold. I also included a full set of new brake lines. This issue was driving me nuts. Still had the issue after replacing the brake master cyl. and bleeding 'til the fluid's very clear (I am sure I bled more than 20 times).
I have another brake...
Not sure about B1 Pin 10... That may be in the 89+ B1 plug. One of the other notes on the last page of that wiring peer review thread shows... B1 Pin 7 NSW to IK1-E4
Maybe the B1 is different in your car. There are a few more updates in that thread from others, that should be very helpful.
Soon as I can find time to put together the parts list, I can see what the cost/turn-around is from Toyota.
I have a targa leak I can't fix and am now going to replace the actual targa istelf (w/leak fix already done), fix/adjust the windows, and add weather sealant in those areas in at the...
I removed a bunch of traction control and auto tranny wiring out. Search for "wiring peer review" where I noted a bunch of stuff. It's for a 91 Supra, but many of the signals are the same (maybe into different connectors) and you just have to match up to the 87...
I am not sure which 55-pin...
Hubcentric rings keep the wheel centered on the hub, when the wheel's hub/center is bigger than the hub on the car. Think of 'em as something that "fills the gap." Some people swear by 'em. others doubt if they are necessary. I would never run without them, especially with aftermarket wheels...
^^ Tru. Look at TOTAL cost of ownership of whatever size you go with. The 18" tires are usually quite a bit more pricey than the 17" ones (19s will kill your wallet for sure).
So, using Excel (or whatever spreadsheet app U prefer)... Look at the size/fitment of the wheels you want, in the...
I have 18s and love 'em...
OP, you did not say what your suspension mods are. If it's stock, I'd go with the 18s. If it's dropped, using Eibach springs, I'd still go 18.
The only way for you to do this right, is to see pics in the wheel thread and decide on the stance you want. Find out...
I think the ones which are connected are going to the right places, but am not sure. I did find 2 ports which are open (red arrows below), but it looks like the one on the right, is the one which may have had a line on it (clean tip). I do not have any lose/unconnected lines and did not pull...
...resurrecting the thread.
I hadn't gotten to this project yet, but think it'd be a good one to do over the Winter.
Did anyone else order/document all the pieces/prices needed for this work...?
Write-ups or tips?
On our 94 N/A, we took the Intake Manifold off and replaced everything back on as we thought it was supposed to be. Still sounds like we missed a vacuum line and I can't see where I may have missed it either.
Car still runs fine, but I would still l ike to see a good detailed pic as well and...
If you hadn't already done so, I'd recommend you take this oppty to freshen up the front of the engine...
New waterpump - even if it's just a gasket leaking now, it's done its job for a 100K+ miles. It can last another 100K miles, or die next week. Not something I'd gamble on, with a...
There's a thread her esomewhere with the part numbers for all the various grommets/washers and regulators for the doors/windows. I think adjustment is the issue for you and if you're doing that, you may as well replace that stuff.
I plan to do this sometime soon. Maybe we can get together...
