Aftermarket works much better anyhow. :) Reacts fast enough to reflect what the engine is actually doing, not what it did 3 seconds ago.

Put a test meter on the battery terminals when the car is running and post how many volts you have.

Exactly - this is the same way that I did it. My HKS has been fine so far, and I'm really not concerned about it, I'd say put it on and stop worrying. :)

What exactly are you doing? Changing the entire engine side wiring harness? Why the fields wiring extension?

Truth. I remember this as well. He says that PVC has other benefits as well, like the fact that it doesn't absord heat from the engine bay anywhere near as fast as anything metallic.

ALso... it would be smart to replace the oil pump if you pull the block. It can't hurt, and it might help in a big way.

If your mechanic says your rings are dead, the block is coming out.

Check the turbo compressor outlet hose, and the 3000 pipe to throttle body coupler. Those are almost always the first to go.

Try this. Go to a local paintshop (NOT maaco) and get a quote on a paint job - the full meal deal, painting everything, not just the exterior. I'll bet you dollars to donuts it's less than $5k. So now you should be able to find a nice turbo car that is mechanically mint, and restore the paint...
