PCV system is easy to check. There is a pipe connected to both the valve covers - pull that and see if you are getting a lot of oily vapour spewing out of there when it runs. If so, that vapour is sucked back into the engine and burnt.
This normally only happens on tired bottom ends, though.
This is an endlessly debated subject, with no clear answer. In short, either do it or don't, and you may get lucky either way. And you may be unlucky. :(
Ah, I missed the emanage earlier. :)
It's reasonably simple to find out - add some fuel with the emanage, throw it on the dyno, and see if the AF starts to lean at high boost. If it does, you need more fuel.
