Damn, thanks for the info jdub. I'm going to have to go searching for new filters, my stock of replacements is all FRAM. :( Luckily I haven't fired up the engine yet...

I suspect one of the pins that is used to get the head in the right position... they are usually pretty mangled on one side after getting pounded out. There's two of them, one at the front of the block and one at the back. The head gasket and head go over them.

With the old processor in, boot into the BIOS and reset it to default. Then put in the new chip and try to restart.

Possibly you are getting a fair bit more power now just from the low temps... the colder it is outside, the more power your turbo will provide at the same boost levels. Still, that shouldn't put you over the limit for that clutch. Is the pedal adjusted correctly?
