    if you're really concerned you could break out the bristle wheel for a drill and clean it up. either that or could you use naval jelly on it to convert it to primer, then paint?

    to me most of it looks like surface rust, except for the few spots along the seams. i'd tear it all down, though, just to be safe. looks nothin like the rust i've been dealing with on my truck.

    yeah, ive used the clay bar and was amazed at the results. when the tree fell on the car too, meguiars cleaner wax took most of the surface scratches right out of the hood. i love the stuff, but i use turtle wax ice now that ive cleaner waxed and clay bar'd the whole thing.

    mine is never really accurate. sometimes itll be on and then when i go up or down a hill itll go back to normal. its just hit or miss with my warning light.

    k, get it nice and warm without giving the stud much chance to absorb heat, then turn away. would the same principle work with heating the entire nut/stud and cooling the stud with water (or something similar), or would this weaken it even more?
