Rusty Nuts (work safe) Help!

Shouldn't need much heat Clip, the idea is to expand the nut then undo it before the stud expands and fills the gap you've made.

You just need a temp differential between the 2 parts so you're NOT heating it red hot or anything that might damage the stud.

k, get it nice and warm without giving the stud much chance to absorb heat, then turn away. would the same principle work with heating the entire nut/stud and cooling the stud with water (or something similar), or would this weaken it even more?

You just have to be quick!

Have your Dad hit it with the heat for a couple of seconds just on the Nut then You wrench on it!

If it works it'll come undone right away if not move to another.

Glad you got them off clip. FWIW, they sell a torque multiplier guys use on the big rigs. Harbor freight FTW. That would have got them off or twisted the studs off too.
