Steel Wool. Check! ;)
Yeah, my buddy that came over is a machinist. He said run it. Plus, I've got two other engines to choose from if something catastrophic happens. They're just not built yet.
I didn't notice any big dips. But, I did notice that since the BHG, the oil pressure...
Thanks Ryan! One thing is for sure. My wallet is beginning to fit easier in to my back pocket. I guess that's the life of a Supra Owner! :biglaugh:
Thank you! So what do you think the Drive - to - Wrench ratio is with a supra? :)
Kawabunga Dudes!!!!! :biglaugh:
I'm finally pulling the bottom end after my BHG. The BHG happened a little over a year ago.
Here is a pic of two bottom halves (rod bearings):
Here is a shot of the crank journal. Slight grooves; but, I can't feel them with my fingernail. I'm thinking it's time to have it...
It almost sounds like a sticky throttle cable or throttle linkage. It's kind of a pain; but, you can try to lube the throttle cable. The linkage and pulleys are easier to get to which makes them easier to lube.
Another thing it could be is that the throttle cables are not routed properly...
Another symptom of a failing TPS is a slight hesitation/miss at a given throttle position. What happens is the TPS will develop what's called a "Flat Spot". Basically, it will wear out in the spot that your pedal is at most.
Nothing hard core tonight. I kind of took it easy. I decided to fix/beautify my Blitz elbow so I can send it off for Ceramic Coating next week.
Someone did a 'Mickey Mouse' job of grinding on this thing. So I decided to make it better! :)

Thanks Duane. I certainly want to keep things moving forward. Even if I only get to the garage to clean something. I want this thing DONE!!! :)
I'm sure you are! And yes you do! :biglaugh:
Here's a shot of my flywheel. It looks just as bad, if not a little worse than the pressure plate. Fortunately, I've got a brand new insert!
And lastly, here's where I stopped for the evening. The crank pulley is off and she's on the stand.
Yep, exactly what I suspected. A leaky rear main. And an ugly Pilot Bearing...
Here's a shot of my Blind Hole Bearing Puller. That nasty Pilot Bearing is no match for this baby!
cfs...maf...? :3d_frown:
Did it run this way before you had Toyota do the work? If not, then take it back to them.
If so, then they're not a good shop/dealership. They should have notified you of the poor runability and quoted you the repair.
