^No kidding! I'm focusing on the 91. She's my baby. ;) Once that's back on the road, I'm going to put the engine in my 87 in to my 89 and put the 89 up for sale. Then take some choice parts off the 87 and part it out. That's the plan anyway...

    CajunKenny's Build Thread

Cool. I'll be watching for your thread. Eh...you'd be surprised what people are looking for. Put your stuff up in the FS section and it'll go. But if not, once you get your 1j in, then you can build the 7M here and there to put back in when the 1j needs work. Orrrrrrrrrrrrr.....pick up...

    supra pops on dyno

Now if that was a 7M all the jz guys would saying: "uh huh...told ya 7M's can't hold power...7M's are crap!" ;) Yeah, 12.5 + 27psi = rod thru block and almost a dead camera man. :biglaugh:

Finally got done with the valve stem seals. That job is by far my least favorite to do. It has also been the single most time consuming part of this build so far. I HATED EVERY BIT OF IT!!!! Here's 10+ year old valve stem seal carnage... I decided to replace the EGR Cooler Gasket. Good...

Do you have pics of your car up anywhere? I'd like to see it. We 91's are few and far between! Going 1j!??!?! Traitor! ;) You'll miss the torque; but, yeah, that's a pretty easy swap. In a perfect world, I'd like to have three of my car. 1j, 2j, and 7M. :biglaugh: So, you're running...

Hmm...I think you have me confused with someone else. I've never done a rack. I once dropped the subframe to replace bearings. Could that be what you're remembering? Sorry... :(

Everything worked like a champ! Here's a disassembled upper valve assembly. Note the two small keepers on the right. Don't lose those! Here's a nasty old valve stem seal. Here's a new valve stem seal installed.

Here's setup to the block. I chose to use air instead of rope. I set the cylinder that I was working on to TDC then secured the rotating assembly with a wrench so it wouldn't rotate and suck in a valve. Using a hose from my compression tester kit, I pressurized each cylinder to...

Here's a shot of all my cam saddles. This is after only around 6k miles. Not too bad; but, worse than I'd hoped to see.

I got the center galley and the cams out. Getting ready to tackle the valve stem seals. Here's the tool arsenal I chose for the job.

Hey IJ: Just in case you missed it, I replied to your question on page 2. :)

    some bottom end questions

My spare block and the one that's going in the car now are different and the numbers I posted are from my spare block. Sorry for the confusion there. On my current build, all of the plastigauge numbers were within spec. I just didn't fully understand what the block numbers meant until reading...

    some bottom end questions

I just bought and installed a standard size rod and main bearing kit. No machine work was done. Even though all of the plastigauge measurements were within the TSRM spec, the tolerances are still not going to be as good as from the factory because all of the bearings I just installed are the...

    High WHP on stock internals

Did anyone notice that guy holding the blue jacket (or whatever it is) trying to be manly by not covering his ears? Then at around 8.5k he buckles. What a dork. :3d_frown:

    Coolant in spark plug valley

Ugh...you should've removed and cleaned that center galley cover. It pains me to look at! ;) You might want to pull all of your plugs, the EFI Fuse, and crank it a few revolutions to clear out the cylinders. Inspect your plugs while they're out.

    High WHP on stock internals

Tekdeus is making 515+ on a MHG, ARP's, Water/Meth, a tune, and stock internals. And from what I hear, he drives it like he stole it!

Please take a look at my cam saddles.

Please take a look at my cam saddles.

Yeah, I might take them. I'm not up on cams though. Are 264's or 272's the max before you have to upgrade springs and retainers and such? Also, are adjustable cam gears required?
