Ok. Exciting stuff today. I went and picked up my tranny! Here she is all Marlin Crawler'd up! :)
And yes...that's FIPG Orange!
I then got motivated to clean this pig.
Then I mounted her up!
I use Purple Power in my parts washer and it has removed paint on a lot of parts. I don't know how it reacts with rubber though.
My buddy had some simple green on a rag and he set it on the plastic side mirror on his truck and within about 10 minutes, the rag had sort of melted itself to the...
Here are some injector goodies that arrived from Driftmotion. (not the injectors, just the o'rings and insulators)
And here they are installed in the rail and eventually on to the head.
Thanks Fred! Yeah, it does look pretty cool. He told me that it was a good thing to take the extra step and replace the needle bearings. Before rebuild measurements were on the border of spec on the loose end. After all new parts along with the needle bearings I had to get from Toyota, all...
My buddy called me today and told me to come down and take my last look of the tranny opened up because he's going to button it up tomorrow!
Here are pics of the Marlin Crawler Chromolly Bearing Plate installed. Take note to the engraving. If someone tells you they've got a MC Bearing Plate...
Thanks Ron! :)

Hopefully, I'll be able to make it by there tomorrow before he get's it all buttoned up so I can get some pics of the Marlin Crawler parts...
Didn't get a lot of time out there this evening... :(

Thanks for the 2jz motor mount tip. I'll file that one away...
Yeah, I was just getting things ready for work tomorrow and it actually took me a second to remember how to set my alarm clock. I guess that's a good thing! :biglaugh:
I dropped the subframe and replaced a rod knock on my 87. I caught it very early and the repair was 100%. 1.5 years later and still no knock.
Despite the overwhelming mob of folks that told me to pull the motor rather than drop the subframe, I found dropping the subframe to be easier. The...
