I should've fully explained how I set mine up. Sorry...
I used an IR Thermometer to meter the temp right on the thermostat housing. When the thermostat opened, I let the temp rise ~10* then set my fans to come on at that point.
All this happens at ~180* according to my temp gauge that's...
I've been running FAL's for a couple of years now. I have a temperature gauge plumbed into the bottom of my Koyo and have the fans come on at 180*. I haven't had any issues.
Well, one issue. The inline fuse holder that comes with the FAL kit is garbage. Mine melted into a ball. I then...
Yeah, that much snow tends to slow things down for sure! I appreciate you getting that stuff out to me and helping me out along the way. :)
Merry Christmas Fred!
At this point, I am going to tackle the valve stem seals. I ordered them Monday and they arrived yesterday. I just haven't made it in to town to pick them up yet. Maybe tomorrow...
My tranny has been way laid by a broken bearing. Upon install, the inner race broke. The replacement is...
At this point, she's starting to look more like a complete engine again.
The rear main seal is in along with the rear timing cover seals. Everything has been torq'd to TSRM Spec and Toyota FIPG used.
Here's a couple shots showing off the newly painted oil pan. You may notice that it's a...
He he...yeah, it's an easy mistake to make! At least we're man enough to admit it! :biglaugh:
Oh yeah, I'm sure our paths will cross. I'll be headed to Portland in the spring and of course heading to the Centralia meet too! If you're ever out this way, let me know and we'll do lunch or...
Wise words right here. ^
You should use one of the online duty cycle calculators to give you an idea of where you should be with your 440's. You'll be surprised as to where the safety zone is as opposed to where others will randomly throw out numbers...
Also, remember that your injectors...
Tonight was mainly just a cleaning night. I got a lot of brackets, braces, and such cleaned up. I also sprayed the block down with Gunk and Brake Clean. Yep, it removed everything including the paint. Oh well...at least it's clean now... :)
My first supra got rod knock shortly after I got it. I caught it early enough that I was able to replaced just the rod bearings. I then drove the car for a year+ without any issues. I drove it like I stole it too. Street races, autocross, etc...
Also, I dropped the subframe and did...
C'mon now grim. You're not thinking of selling out are you!? ;)
To OP: As long as you're crank is ok, you could get by with just replacing the bearings.
^That's what I tried first. No dice... I'm sure I had more on it with the breaker bar and pipe than the starter could do.
I'm telling ya. That thing is ON THERE!

The previous owner of my car curbed both fronts. One has a bent lip and cannot be balanced. It's too bad because I like them pretty well. I wish the spokes were thicker; but, I could've lived with it. Save the...
I tried; but, my feet kept sliding across the floor. It was ridiculous!! So, against my better judgement I pulled toward me.
That thing must be JB Welded on there!
Broke my left collar bone while trying to remove a crank pulley bolt. I had a 3' chunk of pipe on the end of a breaker bar for more leverage. I got more leverage alright. Enough to break the breaker bar and have the cheater pipe come smashing in to my collar bone at the speed of sound!
