Pull off your oil cap while idling, see if there is a fair bit of steam coming out of there. If there is, it's likely blowby, picks up oil, dumps it into the intake pre-turbo, then builds up a fair bit in the IC pipes until you give 'er, then pumps it all through the intake into the engine and...

Actually, bypassing it has very little effect on the system. The valve is only ever closed when you have the CC set to full cold.

Have your girlfriend change the climate control from full hot to full cold while you watch this valve. If it doesn't move, it's toast. You can just bypass it entirely, or you can pull it to open and zip tie it there. :)

Must admit, the best part of that build is the "1J THIS" on the cam gear cover. Nicely done, that thing should scare the local wildlife for quite a distance.

It's never run rough, nor does it sound like I have an exhaust leak. Hell, it's not even loud unless I really get on it, because I keep the boost controller set high enough that when the wastegate finally opens, I'm well over the speed limit in the city anyway.
