I had a similar leak and it was the head gasket - blew from the coolant jacket on #6 to the outside world, oddly enough, and didn't actually leak much. It still passed a leak down test with flying colors, of course, as the combustion chamber was still perfectly sealed. It got annoying...

Same problem in mountain bike frames. If they crack, which happens often, they *can* be fixed, but you have to weld them, then re-heat treat them afterwards. I wonder if they treat the entire frame on these cars after the initial welding?
