it depends on how the flush is done. but the safe way to do it for sure is of course the long way. drain the tranny, will get about a qt or so. refill w/ fresh fluid. drive around. repeat. do this til you have used 10-12 qts and you will be good.
congrats again man!
im sure willie is excited about the car and to think it has a lot more in reserve is even that more impressive.
i have seen the car in person and i must say the pics do it no justice. this car is absolutely flawless! both the work sean has done and the car itself inside...
that housing is a little spendy. its $265. atleast it isnt a 1.01 T4 for a gt42, those are over $400.
jon-
yes i plan on flying up w/ william.
any other questions please pm me so we dont jack the thread any further. ive been thinking bout seeing if i can have my own section, i'll keep...
the problem isnt the turbo, but the rev limit. a turbo big enough to make that kind of numbers isnt going to flow enough to make it using the stock rev limit. of course you could use spray. you will be hard pressed to make much more than 650rw range on a stock rev limit car.
the maftpro does enable you do get rid of it since it is map based. no there isnt a setting or feature in the unit itself per se. same as the vpc.
running an afm you need it where it sits. running a maft you need it where it sits in draw thru and need it b/w the maf and the throttle body in...
i dont see why being non bb is a problem. ive never been one to get real excited about bb for cost vs performance. esp the price increase on these size turbos.
btw, i sell t4 housings for them ;)
thats the odd thing about supras. almost sounds like a valve but it comes from the bottom end. esp since you heard the sound in the oil pan. did you ever pull the inj clips or a plug wire at the coil to determine if the sound goes away or reduces? that would def be my next step. altho...
i just get a clean paper towel and lay the dipstick across it. you can easily see where the oil level is. the 91+ dipsticks are a diff design and easier to read if you wanted to swap it out. pretty cheap, even new from toyota.
if you use a 12-10g wire it wont get hot.
i forgot to mention in the thread on sf- but you say 2 cyl arent firing or fire ever so often. swap the coil packs around and see if it moves.
finally got some info for ya! the gt3040 is the same turbo as gt3076r.
they are all T3 turbines and available in a slew of a/r
36, .48, .63, .64, .82, .86 and 1.06.
all are bb turbos and kinda spendy. retail is $1325 and i sell for $1199.
please note gt turbos had a slight price increase...
i agree w/ IJ. if it was smoking that bad it will take a while for all that to blow out.
also when i prime my motor i fill the oil filter w/ oil and pull the efi fuse.
