Mr. Y.
my advice on this is that to get an idea of timing in GENERAL (not specific to one 7m engine) you need to look at ALL ecus. Of course the one with most maps available is AEM but what you ask is for someone that hopefully knew what they did to post on here. My advise on this...
yes it does. not so much so because of the displacement increase. Because of the stroke increase more so (+6.5mm increase). I have been running this engine. Adjuster runs this also. Gut feeling, i don't play gut feelings. But luckily I don't smoke up my tires either as the ECU takes care of that...
apparently you haven't seen what Titan, HKS charge for the 2jz stoker kit ;) 3k is CHEAP by comparo. And with our stroke. those .2 liter extra is night and day diff on off the line take off. Hell with the stock gearing (3.9 or 3.7) 1st and 2nd become worthless. With 4.1 three gears become...
I hope you guys are not selectively reading
"January 1 of the current calendar year and with a manufacturer's designated gross vehicle weight rating of more than 10,000 pounds"
AND....
that means Older tha Jan 1 AND has to be 10,000 lbs or more!!! I know our pigs are heavy but good lord!!!
haha
dude. Titan owns for tuning. :)
only way to break in a High HP motor is is to drive it like you stole it. I was driving it like I stole it from mile zero (after the 15 minute warm up).
hmm guess beating Duane to this post :)
The tec2 works fine. Just be mindfull of the ECU prom that MIGHT dislodge (Duane was lucky, Melloyello was not). Also the tec2 just like the tec3 and tec3r require a 60-2 crank trigger wheel be fitted on the crank.
For ideas check out Duane...
ps the stroker kits make the rod 6 inches in length instead of the 5.8 inches for stock.
also i was joking with my stroker comment as i have had one for about two years. Same kit adjuster has. 8500 rpm redline without issues or failures. ;)
ahh someone beat me to it.
My first comment was going to be. Out of all the HKS VPC-Pro how many have had the typical bitch about, i can't get this or that or booohoo this or that? None that I can think off. Why? Because guys like Ben (Obiwan) know it inside and out. No need to be tommy tinker...
you idle is too low.. needs to be 650 for manual or 800 for auto. Idle can be adjusted without touching the tb or tps. screw is on the side. Flat head screwdriver needed.
hehe
on a another note
both the wolf V500 and the Motec x00 series ECU have the SAME EXACT PLUGS (Plugs "A" has 34 pins and Plug B has 26 pin with two not used). The pin assignment is nowhere near the same ball park though.
you never ever will see that information unless someone that posts on these boards has rev engineered the TCCM. Jetjock is the closest that I know off but I highly doubt he has been able to do direct read of the ign table in the stock ECM (ala techtom, g-force).
AIT, AFM, CLT all affect the...
wow that is screwed up!
I got an observation (not re the diodes or anything of that nature)
If you guys are ditching the stock ECU to go aftermarket. Why not ditch the stock ignition at the same time? If it works.... The thing is with an aftermarket ECU you ahve OPTIONS. Easy options to...
as with everything else it is comprimises
a turbo is peaky. the nature of the beast. A smaller A/R won't make the power band broader. It will just move the peak down in rpm range. Problem is with a bigger turbo of the gt40 size on up. Having a smaller a/r will move the surge line to the right...
sexy
only problem.. if it is made in china... counterfiets will come.
They have no qualms about doing that....
on a seperate front but on the same subject. Miller & Kriesel folded. They gave the chinese thier design so they can cut cost. Well the chinese started selling them and now...
