O-scope for the win.
You know that is one thing about some standalones. They have started to include a rudimentary oscope to capture crank signal levels. Of course not a REAL oscope but man does that help in TSR'ing.
not for anything but the 7m-gte coils are pretty damn stout. This cleans up the engine bay pretty good though. As for improvements. You might or might not. Depending on the condition of the 7m coils.

for your question. No. The timing is what dictates when the fuel gets injected and when the ignition gets lit. Some ECU can control when the injector starts and stops. The ignition timing is what dictates when the spark event happens.
quick q
Did you find a base map to...
Perhaps on smaller displacement cars where the air moving through the exhaust is not as much at the same rev as a higher displacement car. But on a 7m, I know for a fact it is stupid loud. Especially in the lower octave of the sound frequency spectrum. Roughly around 100+ db A weighted (low 90db...
don't listen to the nay sayers. There are always quieter exhaust in the 3 inch flavor. For instance one of the quietest hands down. The Tanabe Hyper Medallion. Great exhaust and quiet. For a droning exhaust that will give you headaches. Blitz NU-R1. To f'ing loud. Quite does NOT have to be...
hmmm
well i see blurry blobs...blobs in soldering is never good :)
<-- will take a look at my harness but I think the wire has a silver/tin coating on it which take a HELL of alot of heat to make the solder adhere too.
yes we are low key :)
and I will on the RayChem :) I think titan said the same thing you just said (about you are the man on the raychem DR-25 stuff ) ;)
Hey John,
nice of you to be onboard here :)
btw Might give you a jingle on the RayChem DR-25 stuff ;) Had to put it on hold while some work was performed on the car :)
Mr. Y
well not sure if your reading told you what I am about to tell you.
tunning on the low and mid level is best done on a steady state dyno. Otherwise you have zero idea of what is going on :)
Likewise for the maps. Do you know WHO did the initial map? Has it been changed since the...

if you got the coin... M&W is where the buck stops. :) One of the few CDI ignition that can run Mercury Marine coils, which cost 22 dollars each in the USA. Three time that in AUS.
AEM, Motec, Haltech, BigStuff.
all the same thing
ignition, fueling and idle. How you get to the tuning portion for those specifics is diff but 10 degreees in one is 10 degrees in the other ;) The other part that changes is the advanced stuff like injector turn on time in degrees (diff...
no no no
Motec + CDI8 + Mercury Marine Coils = NitroMethane Burning engine FTW. And no I am not kidding ;)
btw on that note... I know what you running ignition wise but what are you running coil wise? 2jz coils?
Dont be. I had to have my soldering job inspected for 4 years in the AF ;) So I learned all the tricks to a good soldering job. At first no way it was that nice.. hehe
I set my soldering station to 650f-700f and it stays there. If it takes you more than 3 seconds to flow and attach with solder, you probably did fry the diodes and or the the soldering iron is not hot enough and hence takes longer to heat up what you are trying to solder, not a good thing as...
