    big negative you are increasing the internal diameter of the tubing which there by decreases the velocity of the gases. This causes back pressure as you are going from a high velocity portion of the pipe to a lower velocity area. Not a great idea!

    yes well aware that the Supra uses a type K3. Been that way since the early 90. That picture is of the standard/normal FCD again.

    ummm if i am reading the schematic right from ignitor to coils it is Black-Orange (goes to positive fused) Light Blue - Red Light Blue Yellow Yellow

    normally i would not refute that but straight from HKS site http://www.hksusa.com/images/?id=1329 notice the title. It says that is the Normal/Standard. No mention of the Type K3.

    Yikes!! My bad. Dunno how I missed that part :) well I still would focus on the coil packs and more specifically. At night where you can easily see the blue arcing ;)

    they must have just changed it as I was running an HKS FCD a WHILE ago (1996) and that one had NO dials what so ever. HKS states that their Standard does infact have that dial but I can not find Type K3 anywhere.

    you have something set incorrectly backfire means the ignition event is happening after the exhaust valve opens. Try to set the CPS how you normally would using the TSRM.

    Just to be perfectly clear. Just because it CAN be done does not make it any more legal than getting caught smoking weed or getting caught bringing in cuban cigars. this therefore makes the 1jz illegal regardless if it can be had or not and if it gets installed. Since it is not EPA...

    no, first figure out of the TPS sensor is really bad. If you have a multimeter. Should be easy to test. Otherwise you could replace it to see if it is that BUT you still need a mutlimeter to set it up :(

    Seasoned blocks are the best (as long as they have not been beaten to DEATH). Then just do a rebuild and you are set!

    no no no ;) the 1jz is illegal in the states. The motors sold via your fav jdM m@d tYt3 y000! shop has a litttle statement that says, for off road use only. Just beacuse the law is not enforced in any capacity does not make it LEGAL.

    Josh did you do the small maintanance items ESPECIALLY the spark plugs? Reason I ask is that if the car has been sitting and the plugs were never changed before that. You might be getting a slight misfire on one of the cylinders which will make your HC go up at that point. ninjaedit...

    hey kracin my advice. Disconnect the FCD. If you did it right the "butt plugs" should rejoin the harness without the FCD in the way. one thing you didn't mention the FCD should not have ANY adjustmentes to it. If it does you have the wrong one.

    same thing!! more than likely. You probably did true the holes up and that made the bolts come in slanted.
