well when mine did that with a brand new throwout bearing, it ended up being a front bearing retainer thus resulting in the transmission needing rebuild, just my 2 cents.

The auto radiator has a extra hookup on the bottom for tranny fluid to run through, just put a small rubber plug on it and your fine.

Why would you floor an engine that obviously has an issue up to 115mph? Test the AFM like nick said and report back.
