What's the deal with this whole "buy a JDM engine" thing? You don't know what you're getting, just because the compression is okay on a JDM engine doesn't mean it will run good. Save your money and just rebuild your old engine, or if too much material has been removed from the head and block...
I'm working on making an aluminum or sheet metal under engine tray soon ;). Oversized oil pans are also made already, talk to DR. J, he should be able to set you up with one for around 150.00 with your old CLEAN pan ;).
Um, I think you may be looking at the wrong down pipes... Unless it's an ebay down pipe where it bolts up the the stock turbo elbow being 2.5", then after the flex section it goes to 3". The best bet on a down pipe for your car would be one with an integrated elbow on it and being full 3" or...
Eh, he's got 3 clusters, let him try it out on at least one and if it works, hey he saved 250 that he could spend on something else... Like an MK4 MAP sensor ;).
If you just take out your 150 cluster and replace with a 160 it will be off right? You have to get the gear out of the tranny from the newer supras to make it right correct (not the mention the 3.73 LSD).
On the back of the cluster, right behind the speedo is a circular hole with something in there that looks a lot like a plastic toothpick. take your drill and tighten it up around the toothpick VERY CAREFULLY. Then turn the drill on until the speedo starts going up. Make sure your drill isn't off...
^ That, or rig up your drill to the back of the cluster (preferably a plug in drill, it's gonna take a little while), set the drill to like half speed (don't want to strip anything out in the cluster) and take a breather for a little while ;). I say it this way to save your speed cable...
