You are taking material off the main cap to "shrink the size of the bearing needed back to stock specs (this is a very crude definition).

You will have to replace the rod and main bearings to prevent rod knock due to the fact that there was coolant in the oil, which in turn becomes acidic once the oil and coolant mix and heat up. Your bearings are on they're way out wether you know it or not ;). Make sure when you get new...

Yep, I'm basing my opinion on the picture HPF.com provided.

Most local shops that you will go to will not have worked with a 7M before, so they probably don't understand the tight tolereances with the head and block needing to be as straight and smooth as possible for a MHG, not to mention the torque specs being inacurate.

I noticed that you didn't put down that you had an aftermarket intercooler. This would be the next thing I would go with to keep the charge temps. down ;). If you want to FREE up HP (emphasis on the free) get a lightweight flywheel and driveshaft (you will probably be needing a new clutch soon...

It's SOOO much easier on the wallet to do this job on your own. You can bet your ass that the cost of labor will be, at the least, what you'll be paying in parts, if not double ;).

I figured the coupler would flex a lot being a long as it is without having as much hard pipe on it, but then again, it's probably what, 3 or 4 ply silicone? It may not flex very much, but I dunno. If you dyno it, I'd keep an eye on that coupler when the boost gets put to it to see if it does...
