Here's one:
Pronounced as one letter,
And written with three,
Two letters there are,
And two only in me.
I'm double, I'm single,
I'm black blue and grey,
I'm read from both ends,
And the same either way.
Yep, that's right, if you want it done right, that's what you've got to do. You should have realized that a supra is a very demanding car by now from being on the forums for almost a year ;).
I would at least get a WB that way you know what your A/F's are after the tune. A good tune can turn bad down the road due to unforeseen circumstances :(.
I think he's talking out of his ass personally. When you install a MHG, ALWAYS have the head AND block machined to the proper RA spec (not the mention flatness). Here's a story for you: My cousin had BHG on his supra, took of the head and had it machined, ARP studs installed, BLOCK WAS NOT...
Tell the mechanic you need as little material taken off the block AND head as possible to make both straight. Depending on if you want to use a MHG or not, you'll have to get the RA specs within tolerance. And yes, the stud kit Doriftomotion sells is great (I've got one) and ARP studs are FTW...
Not a bad buy for a head ;). I say get the extra one and start prepping. Remeber to replace the bearings and get the head and block machined straight and at the propper RA spec for the next MHG you use.
Right on, couldn't agree more ;). Tell the mechanic to take off the least amount possible to get both straight and smooth. To be on the safe side of things I would make sure the person you take it to can get the head and block down to an RA of at LEAST 20.
Since you've got a BHG, I would...
Um... Big A sells those "ebay manifolds" also. I'm sure he's fully aware of the integrity of the products, if he felt like they were shit, I'm willing to bet he'd probably not sell them ;).
If you haven't heard of RA before, then you need to research on MHG's before you jump the gun and install one ;). If you don't have AT LEAST the RA spec required for your MHG, then it will most likely not seal and you will BHG. 1.2mm is thin, you may need to look at a 1.4mm at the least. We...
