Ya I was planning on trying one of the high output LED ones either way. I just think it'd be neat to make an LED light strip that attached to the back of a seat or something. We'll see if I ever get around to it....
Thanks for the subscriptions guys, it'll keep me motivated to get this thing...
I was actually referring to the oil pressure gauge being dim. Although with your unique set-up, the gas gauge does seem a little weaker.
First post updated.

Hopefully when the thread is near complete, it will become a sticky or a part of the reference/tech tips section.
I think they just pop off.
Search for tag LED and you should find a bunch. You can also see the link above...
The oil gauge is one that I hear people have trouble with. It is lit by the one #74 bulb, so I guess when you use brighter bulbs(5WLED) the oil gauge can look dimmer than the rest. I will try to alleviate this when I do mine. I want it to look near perfect if I do it at all.
Yup, me too. I...
The needle, i believe, is lit by the other gauge lights. I dont think it has it's own light. But again, I haven't done it. I'm just going off of what I remember reading. :dunno:
The #74 should be the standard push in type. I'm not sure if you want the 2 lumen one or the 6 lumen, high power one...
:biglaugh:
...that fucking honda. :nono:
Didn't you say something about sleep? :sarcasm:
I need more pics for this thread. It's annoying trying to find someone else's pics that happen to include what I want. Maybe this will motivate me to do mine sooner, but I can't decide on a color...
Hungry Howie's is good shit!!! Non-greasy pizza that is still edible. :)
Tana chick is hot and has a good taste in music!!! I'm taking the day off work to see Slipknot, Distrubed and the band that plays her Myspace song.
Your lawyer sounds like a complete joke, Laura. :(
To change the needles, I believe you need to take them off, sand the current paint off, then paint desired color. Only paint the backside of the needle, NOT THE FRONT.
LED Needles writeup
Well here it goes. This took a ton of labor to perfect. I'm no wiring genius and until this my circuit prototyping experience was practically zero. I'd worked on basic breadboard projects in my electronics 101 engineering course, but that was about it.
First, for a...
This thread is intended to answer basic questions about the lighting set-up in the MKIII. I have completed the gauge lighting and climate control using LED's and a PWM dimmer. The first two posts will be continually updated as I complete all my lighting throughout the car.
Gauge Cluster...
I'm in the exact same boat. I haven't had any personal experience with it, so my thread will be a compilation of other people's info. But I think I'll start right now and see If i cant bang out the start of a FAQ thread for the lighting issues people ever-so-commonly ask about.
**edit: Thread...
Currently it'd have to be "Impeller head" jt2ma71 for me.

It was OneJoeZee. :( :( :( That car was simple and beautiful.
Though I am dying in anticipation to see Supraholic's 2008 MKIII.
We desperately need a sticky for interior lighting FAQ. We have at least 3 or 4 long threads that detail the process, but it's a bitch to track down the 2 or 3 posts that actually contain the needed information.
I might try to compile a quick FAQ later tonight.
I think the RSR's and the H&R's look too low in general. The wheels creeps into the wheel well and it looks too ricey for me unless it's on a track car. The Eibachs give a good lowering and make the car look NATURALLY lower. Same goes for the whiteline, ST and a few others that are more after...
