What parts of Smog did you do worst in? I think high Nox can be a sign the cat is about toast. :dunno: Though I'm sure a non-working cat would have negative effects on most gases.

The exterior key ring light should be on all OEM driver's locks, AFAIK, regardless of year. It seems many have either worn out from a dying LED, bad/old wire, or bad solder joints. code 71 = check your EGR plumbing, aka, clean the throttle body AND Y pipe. I kept getting a 71 and finally took off my Y pipe and found the passage had been clogged full of crap. Cleaned it out with some carb cleaner and a skinny screwdriver and all has been well since. :)
