^^ I'm in west too. I'd be happy to offer any advise or quick help on the bhg. I've done 4 on 7ms. I don't have a bunch of free time, but I want as many mk3s on the road being enjoyed so ill help where I can. :)
Sounds like a good plan. A stock, good running supra turbo is still a blast...
The lex upgrade only replaces the housing... not the electronics. I'm not crazy am I? That's the idea, to JUST swap the housing and KEEP the stock electronics. The stock electronics are what you messed up. doing the 550/lex afm mod will only make your problem worse because now you'll have a...
Popping noise while turning all they way is an easy, cheap fix. The plastic caps are less than 15 total from the dealer. Takes literally seconds to install. Don't even need to jack the car up and they just press on.
Welcome and keep up the good work. For 900 you scored a great deal. :)

This thread hurts my brain. Some people are incapable of listening. This poster is clearly in that category.
Put more Lucas oil in. Recommended amount is about 3 quarts, but more is ok.
You can also use a spoonful of moly grease in the radiator and a quart of water in the diff.
All of the...
Agreed. I've experienced loose drive shaft bolts and it shudders and chatters just like you might expect the carrier to do.
A quick check and wrench may solve your problem.

7m or if you have the know how and funds for a proper 2j swap do that.
1j is the little brother who's newer, may be smarter, but just can't match the muscle of the 7m or 2j.

If anything I bet gas will spike briefly. Seems most any Middle Eastern conflict event has a quick effect on petroleum prices independent of whether the event actually has any effect on any part of oil production.
Good he's dead, but it's nothing ground breaking. There will be many, many more...
320,000 miles.
I'd say it's broken. She's really getting into her stride at this point.
Motor has 10k, transmission has 50k on a full rebuild, diff has around 220k.
**EDIT** You guys seriously have ~50k on the chassis?!?! That's crazy!
Huh? I've had an egr leak sound like a tick. I've also had an exhaust leak sound like a tick. A real valve tick is slightly different, bit not to most amateur mechanics...
Op: egr can definitely sound like a tick, though in my case, it was noticeable at idle.

You might find it helpful to read my thread in my Sig.
Imo, you need to take the head in to have it milled on nearly every single bhg job. Quick, cheap ($75) and good insurance.
And don't lap the block at home...

A local vendor is obligated, by Tokico, to honor your warranty claim. If the local vendor refuses to help you send in the Tokico equipment go ahead and tell Tokico. I'm sure they would be happy remove their product from a vendor who refuses to support their product. ;)
It doesn't matter how...
I sold my Sig through a regional gun owners org. I bet you've got something similar. Mine sold in 5 hours to a local ccw holder.
