Lol, "none of that Orange peel" and a GOOD paintjob are still worlds apart. If you're going through the hassle of a paint job do it right. A good paint job will look factory.a bad paint job will look like a repaint. A HORRIBLE paint job will make you say, "looks like somebody went to macco."...
Do not get a macco paint job. Imo, you're better off doing it yourself or just saving money and putting that towards mechanical bits until you can afford to do it right.
A good, worthwhile, basic paint job with body damage repair should be 5 grand or more, imo.

If you have a USDM ECU and no EGR, you're engine is NOT running as it supposed to. It doesn't matter if you can *feel* detonation or not. You are running lean on part throttle.
Imagine going uphill at ~50% throttle:
The USDM ECU is expecting extra inert gas in you air mixture. This gas will not...
So you run richer than stock while still in the stock ecus mapping range? That makes no sense. Stock ecu absolutely Dumps fuel during wot, no need to increase that.
With no fuel management and I'm guessing no wideband to monitor you should absolutely 100% use the egr system. Easy decision.
If...
Cool project. I've got a 91 3.0 and I'm about to throw the motor through a house. It's absolutely awful.
Anyways, cool project and good luck. Keep up the pics!

Stripping the egr is fine when you tune for it... The problem arises when someone does not have any means to tune and they run at part throttle.
The egr system is closed during wot so full throttle runs and tuning won't know a difference...

Go for a spirited drive and pull over. Wait 5 mins and the area around the turbo will still be scorching hot. The underside of the intake is very very hot right above the turbo even with the factory heat shield.

Sounds like a basic leak and I'd flush out all that stop leak crap as soon as possible. It's not good for anything... At all.

I'd like one too. My raptor racing downpipe (which is incredible BTW, thanks George!!!!) Does not fit the stock shield. I cut mine to fit, but a good blanket would be awesome.

According to the tables posted here 6k rpm is 163 with an auto. Add in the bigger rear tires and he's upwards of 170. Add in addition to that the tendency for speedo to climb and I bet it'd be peggedwell before 6k.
Unless I'm missing something...
I gotta do that oil trick too! Ive head that...
Every bellhousing from my motors has had the minor cracks. I think it'd be hard to find a 20year old, 100k mile drivetrain without them.

You can feel the fan clutch engaging? I've owned 3 mk3 Supras and never once have I felt the fan engage.
At the end of the day, you're playing a risky game with aftermarket e-fans on a car designed to pull more air than most any e-fan can pull. You may be able to find a fan setup that looks a...
Lol. Not a of vtec? Maybe you mean not a fan of vtec stickers on riced out, fart canned cars?
Vtec (or any other company's counterpart) is fantastic. Economy cam profile and a race profile in one motor? Very cool stuff.

Completely agree here. A mid to late 90s civic would be a blast. Can be a very cheap car AND can be a slick ride if you keep it clean.
A civic will cost a fraction what a Mk3 does in the long run.

TRUCO security? Mine has "TRUCO" etched onto the glass and I believe my VIN. either my VIN or some other serial number they can use to track it if the car is stolen.
