I STILL think it has something to do with your cams/valves...are you running synthetic oil? I remember reading something about this a LONG long time ago on the supras e-mail digest...It ended up being a clogged cam oil passage that was causing the tick on startup...

This is interesting...I have noticed that my smoke on startup problem has completely gone away since I installed my 57 trim CT-26...but I still geta really strong burning oil smell after a prolonged boost...It will get so bad sometimes that I have to roll the windows up...I am guessing this...

Well...at least the front wheels will have the benefit of a quiet working environment...

Wow, that's not bad for a bone stock car! Mine only made 190hp...:(. That was around 7psi as well.
