if your block was machined, and correctly then there's one finish it will be.....FLAT, if it feels overly course, have it checked for smoothness, its possible the blade they used was dull or they cut at too high of a speed.
When rebuilding you're supposed to account for how much they take...

simple:
Take a normal strut bar, cut a small piece out of the middle and in its place put the pressure sensor for a force/strain gauge. {somehow you'd have to rig up something that it would stay there}
Drive the car normal then around hard turns at various...
Do a boost leak check to be sure about your vac lines.
Check for codes, look for code 51 specifically
If code then your TPS is out of adjustment, refer to TSRM
If no code then:
Follow up by making sure your ISC clicks after you turn off the car. (i think it clicks 4 times)
