    Valve Cover Seals Help Please

Yep. The green long things are the valve covers and the seals are on the bottom. If you were missing those two screws it would really leak.

writeup: MAFT Pro install for 7M-GE

So that is were he's been, out playing:biglaugh: I have to agree with you about CRE, I haven't driven his car but I can truly say that with his help with mine in setting up the Maft-Pro has been a learning experience from the start and there has not been one time that I've talked to him, I...

    car runs hot

At WOT you would be moving more air and coolant which would explain the drop in temp. Trapped air in the system will make it fluctuate depends on were the air is trapped. I wouldn't be driving WOT untill you find out what is wrong.

Okay guys...I need help..ALOT of help

Check the fan belt tension for the alt., if is loose it won't charge the battery like it should. And like the others said , check your terminals and grounds. You said you flushed the cooling system a couple of weeks ago. Did you burp the system then like cuel suggested then? If the level was...

OK so I'm investigating this knock....tips? anyone have this symptom before?

How many miles on the motor? Rod knock can be a tapping to a knocking sound. Could also be piston slap, valve lash needs set or sticking lifters, if the oil changes have been far and in between, could be all of the above. And no there is no inspection plate on the W58.

    Cheap Performance?

I read somewere here that somebody had stock nos. before their mods. I thought that's what a few on this thread we're comparing the NA mods to. I know most NA's mostly stock usally dyno around 150hp. Factory rates them at 200 crank hp. That's more like a 25% drive train loss. Just wondering if...

Did you check around the EGR and the EGR cooler on the back of the head? Those also have exhaust running thru them.

    MKII foo

Welcome. Good to see another Grandpa on here. Your work looks fantastic. I will be watching future threads for updates concerning the ITB's on the 7m. And would love to get ahold of something like that for my NA if it would be doable.

You could have a leak in the rear deck area and the fumes are comming in. Did you check out under the car to see if there are any leaks in the exhaust pipes?

    Cheap Performance?

I guess it depends on what figures you go by, I read stock for the turbo is 240 at the crank, less 15%=204ft lb. But if you are right about the 246, then 246 less 15%=209ft lb. I guess I should have said "close to a stock turbo" But there again that rating is a factory torque rating which is...

    Cheap Performance?

My torque is 207 before the 550's and Maft-Pro. I think that is more than a stock turbo. My fuel pressure is at 36 lbs. NA being pointless? Guess that's just your opinion.

Cold start injector fuel line problem PICS

It goes back on the way it came off. They are banjo bolts, you have one on both ends, washer on both sides of the fitting. You should use new washers the are useally copper, sometimes alum.

    7MGE ITBs

Man, you guys are making my head hurt with all this tech talk. Very interesting though, would like to see a 7m motor running on it. I wonder how much something like this would cost? And how much reto-tuning you would have to do as far as ECU, piggyback, etc.? Would it be too involved for the...

    Cheap Performance?

I agree. I have a NA, close to the same mods, with a few thousand in it, last time dynoed 215hp, 207 tq, now to dyno with latest mods, Maft-Pro w/SD, 550's, once I get the Maft tuned probably another +20-25. I could have put more into switching to turbo.

    Transmission Problem

That looks pretty boogered up. Can't really tell if you can smooth it out by the pic. Towards the bottom it looks like it's dished out, like something has ground it out. You'll proably have to put a straight edge on it to find the high spots and see it you can salvage it in place, check it with...

    Valve Cover Seals Help Please

I agree with most of the guys here about fixing your existing motor. I went the route of getting a replacement motor that was suppost to have 36kmiles, WRONG. After the switch they sent me another that they said had only 36k, WRONG. I ended up rebuilding my original motor. Unless you really know...
