Okay guys...I need help..ALOT of help

How old is the battery? Have it checked, don't think it has anything to do with the clutch switch, it's located on the pedal linkage under the dash. Sounds like the battery has a cell down and it won't hold a charge for very long. Make sure you get the right tranny fluid.

    Identifying Cams

You should be able to check the TSRM for cam lobe height spec. and see which is which. They maybe the same only one is worn more than the other.

    Cat Gasket size?

Don't have one but they are pretty much standard sizes and fairly cheap. Just guess at it and buy a couple of sizes, or measure the one you have.

Started the Valve Cover gasket replacement *pics*

My last set of VC seals were a little big but not THAT big. Like cuel said they might be for the 2J. You might be able to squeeze them in there but you'll have a fun time bolting them down and keeping them in place. If the old ones are smashed in any areas they probably won't seal, and it looks...

Okay guys...I need help..ALOT of help

Glad the loose belt and grounds fixed the charging problem, samething happened to me. I would try a 5w-40 oil the next time and see if that helps your ticking. Have you changed the tranny fluid or checked it? That many miles I would change it at least every 20k, just me, the way I figure it if...

    7MGE ITBs

Man you guys are making my head hurt again. I can understand most of what you are saying even as simple minded as I am, I guess some of it's sinking in. That's a good thing. Your final statement Doward is my main concern with all of this. Weighing the cost vs complexity(remember my simple mind)...

    7MGE ITBs

Heads have a Stage I port job, cams have 322lift and 218 dur. @ 50, and I have 10.5-1 compression now, wanted to run pump gas as to why I didn't go any higher with compression. It's acually checking with the compression test, around 11-1. Nitrous ahhhh, maybe. With the 97.5mm stroke I wouldn't...

    7MGE ITBs

Thanks Doward. So as I understand it the Maft-Pro w/SD will be able to control a ITB setup. My wallet will be very happy to hear that:icon_bigg. My car runs so much better with only a half-ass tune on it now that I'm really looking forward for the tune to be complete so I can dyno it again...

Yeah, he said he'd give me $20 for saying all that BS about him, but I told him not to worry about it:biglaugh: Were's he at? I hope he's checking out all the nice stuff we're saying about him.

    Valve Cover Seals Help Please

I'd go to the hardware store and get some cap screws, you should get new washers for the screws though, they have little rubber washers on them to seal around the bolts(dealer), when you pull one out you will see what I mean. You only have to put a dab of RTV sealant in the corners of the VC...

writeup: MAFT Pro install for 7M-GE

Not until I get the laptop so I can make sure of my tune. Too hard driving and looking at the Maft:aigo: I offered to put CRE up for awhile to come help me:naughty: But he used the excuse of working or something:biglaugh: The dyno shop has a new guy and he admitted not knowing very much about...

Howdy...to torque or not to torque?

I think this has been disscused in another thread not to long ago, and I beleive the concensus was if you were to retorque to do it very slow in small increments. I think if it was me I wouldn't take the chance of causing it to leak when it dosen't leak now. How do you mean check them Doward? To...

OK so I'm investigating this knock....tips? anyone have this symptom before?

I've had the rod knock transfer to the shifter, clutch, etc. Not so much as a vibration, but you could feel it. I don't know of a dust cover that will let you see into the clutch area. There is one at the bottom of the bell housing, but all you would be able to see is front of the flywheel. I...

    7MGE ITBs

I have just recently switched to Maft-Pro SD on my NA. Would this unit be able to tune the ITB's, or would I have to go with a standalone ecu? Or is that hoping for too much. I have the cams, titanium valves, stroker kit, eagle H rods, 060 pistons, etc. So far the Maft-Pro is helping to use...

Howdy...to torque or not to torque?

I agree, retorqueing a old HG is asking for trouble. the water jackets get brittle with age and you would probably cause it to leak now. I had my stock HG last 96k miles and it wasn't blown then without retorque. Wow, 67k orig. miles is almost unheard of nowadays. Nice find and welcome to the...
