The thread on the knock sensor itself might be a taper design, but as stated above the thread should be the 12mm. Also, get yourself a bottoming tap and use plenty of cutting fluid. Cast iron is NASTY stuff. Go slow and don't break it off.

You know I have the same problem with my hks evc3. It refuses to learn. I double, tripple, and quaduple checked all the hoses and even took the filters out to make sure it wasn't a line restriction problem. I could do a pull fine in 4th or 5th with the BC on, but in 1-3 it was boost spike city.
