rod knock is purely an oil delivery issue.
under ideal conditions, nothing will break. detonation kills the stock pistons. horsepower isn't going to fold a rod, over-reving will.
launch RPM and method totally depends on YOUR car, location and what tires you're using. the best way to figure it out is try differing methods and see what nets you the best 60'......provided you're on a strip.
realize there is a TON more that goes into how a turbo spools than just the compressor:
-turbine
-turbine housing A/R
-compressor
-compressor housing A/R
proper sizing involves balancing all those parameters with your goals in mind.
perhaps i should add some actual info- the only TBs that will bolt onto the stock flange are the stocker (duh!) and the turbo A. there are a few companies that bore out the stocker, but IMNSHO it's hardly worth it as the opening gets rather thin....
