Elevation? Tune/age? A proper 7MGE W58 Supra will do 130, but not much more. 150 is impossible without a gearing change, and then more power.

If you don't find the fusable link, then it is burned up... Oh one other thing, you could have tossed the alternator belt too, and discharged the battery. That is what the light on the dash means. You are discharging the battery. Did you have to replace the alternator belt too?

I ran two of my 7MGE W58 Supras up to their limit of about 130 mph. Ran that way for half an hour once in the middle of the night on the way back to Denver, west of Omaha though, on I-70. You could actually see the fuel gauge crawl. You and your "BHG meters" never protested. Rock solid all...

You will starve the engine for air if you hold the valve closed above 4000 RPM. I will owe up right now to having fucked with it a dozen or more years ago, just to see what it did. It was a gutless turd unplugged. Pulled hard above 4500 rpm though. It really kicked in at that point...

The HKS sport exhaust is for the 7MGE. Do not buy it. It is a 60mm exhaust, with a baffled muffler. You want the turbo exhaust. It is 75mm and a staight through muffler. And yes, it is quiet. If you lug the engine a little, it is a little deeper. Not real loud, but definetly deeper.

A year apart huh? A dyno can have 5 horsepower difference with no changes between pulls. Your losses. Still waiting to see a stock exhaust, HKS sport exhaust, and a quality 3 inch like you tested on the same car, on the same day. Or at least close and corrected. edit; So a 3" inch exhaust...

Chunks, the reason the head is made the way it is so that you get a more effecient burn. What you are describing is less effecient.

Sure, dump the exhaust to atmosphere. Have fun fabricating that. You could also force the wastegate open, but you need to read what your rule book says. The turbo will still operate with the wastegate open, just not very well.

Which domestics and which imports? Seems like the original poster here is just as bad. You think an '81 VW Rabbit Diesel is comparable to an SC430 in anyway? They are both imports.

Yes, I have. Yes, it can be done. But a 300 rwhp Supra will lose to a 300 rwhp LS1 Camaro. Same with the 400 rwhp range. You need to out power it with our smaller "area under the curve".

Well, it is still a 3500 lb car with only 180 CID trying to push it. You should load the engine just fine.
