I think the problem is you. Not that you are doing something wrong. But 7 1/2 degrees of caster on most street cars is a lot. Perhaps you should ride in an 88 Mustang instead of an 88 Supra with 1 1/2 degrees of caster, and see what darty is.
You are getting really good advice, follow it.
The symptom is overheating, and the cause is the inability to radiate engine heat. You need a thermostat to trap engine heat from the block, a waterpump to push the hot coolant to the radiator, and a radiator that doesn't have internal corrosion.

I think the 86.5-88 front end also looks better, but the 89+ rear is way better.
The more evenly spaced counter weights on the later crank is a better...
Oil filter FO-8, part number 08922-02011, made in the USA. How is that compared to the Thailand special? Ever cut one open?
I don't know if you can still get them. I just found some of my old ones. I was just on the Champion site, and it says that part number is superceded by 90915YZZG1.
