I know it is a cop out, but you asked questions of a purely relative and subjective nature.
Let me show you. No, they aren't worth it.
Good cams and a turbo with a higher A/R on the exhaust will improve top end over the stock set up. So will a good exhaust.
So get a new fan shroud.
These seem to be famous last words for em kay 3 owners for many topics.
As long as you can pull enough air when you need to pull it, and over the entire core, then the method isn't that important. But the engine, contrary to your beliefs, has more power than that...
It opens well after boost, so the timing is probably no longer correct. A dyno would show what works well.
The reason is to increase low end response. Even with boost, the rules of airflow still apply. You can just cheat a little more.
You're right. I need to consider the age, and I wasn't doing that. For example, back in 99, a 95 Camry still had that airflow meter. Most of the problems I saw were people that dropped them.
No it should not be 900. Read the book. If you don't have one, buy one. Ebay usually has a used book, the dealer gets a few too many dollars for a new one.
It has nothing to do with the starter. Just a thought, why do you put it in nuetral when coming to a stop? Manual trans? You can't simulate the problem in the driveway?
How did your old meter throw in the towel? Aside from drop kicking it, I don't see what could be wrong.
I think the MR2 turbo model works, but you still could have the problem pointed out by CRE.
