    A bigger stud is a better choice, any way you look at it. A helicoil is not the best method of repair. But that isn't to say it won't work, because it will.

    You don't have to take the engine out, but with a hoist and the right tools, you can do that in about an hour and half. With experience. With a hoist, it is quicker to lower the craddle and suspension. Seal it with Toyota FIPG.

    That is a hot wire mass airflow sensor. A much better method of measurement. Pitty Toyota took so long to utilize the device. I never could understand why.

    It affects the car by the ECU thinking EGR is flowing when it is not.

    And a low charge indicates a small leak. When you have it professionaly serviced, they will put dye in the refridgerant. They might tell you to come back in a week, to check see if the dye is escaping. And I never messed with all those fan controls, only the high pressure switch was jumped...

    You can hard wire the high pressure switch to a toggle switch inside the car. Just remember to turn it off. I did it once.

    I think his car shifts into O/D sooner than he thinks it should. No, not the gage. He mentioned crossing the wires, so I assumed he meant the two wire harness behind the powersteering resevoir.

    If there is no resistance, shouldn't it show hot? Besides a code for open or short. edit:never mind, it will substitute a known good value.

    Shorting the connector will simply read normal operating temp. Unless JJ says different. But I am pretty sure it is an NTC type thermistor. I don't have my book here, but the engine control unit(TCCS) sends the signals to the trans control unit. The online EWD shows 4 colored wires, IDL, and...

    Oh, it is attached, you are correct. The flange is splined into the diff. Those gears can come out, but it isn't common. You would have to pull the cover and look.

    Yes, but that is if it hangs open. If for some reason it doesn't open, he could make the knock sensor work overtime.

    Cost. You should not need any tuning, unless you are using a bigger turbocharger. It can be done with tuning, but why? Get the better device.

    23 consitent on a tank between two 7M Cressidas and 4 7MGE Supras and one 7MGTE Supra. Highway milage doesn't go up to much as the rear gear is too short.
