The cooler is already mounted. In the stock location. It came threaded for NPT, so I picked up 6 from Summit, but realized the one needs a 90 degree bend, just like the factory cooler. So I went to Ace Hardware and grabbed one.
Yes on the barb fittings. With the 1/2" hose and worm style...
The ABS computer(skid control) is hooked with the trans control. After you check those wires dub said, come back.
I am not sure on what you have done yet. You needed a speed sensor, so you changed the trans?
No, there are no real pluses to not running one, unless you count the few ounces it weighs as weight savings.
The thermostat in addition to maintianing a minumum temp, holds coolant in the engine, allowing it to absorb engine heat. This doesn't happen as well without the thermostat.
I do. He was using "heavy oil". But being as he isn't a dufus, he learned.
Of course engine wear is higher after a change. For the same reason it is higher at start up. All the oil just drained out.
Some oil isn't going to hurt anything. As long as it is only a little. The scrapper rings will pull excess, and combustion will burn it. Some people have put bearing prelube on cylinder walls, and that isn't good. It slows the seating. I don't know that the OP did that, just saying don't do it...
My Perma Cool relocator finally shipped. Hopefully I have it before next weekend so I can work on it next weekend. I think I will finish cleaning the side of the block. I cleaned half of it so far. The part I cleaned looks nice.
A 2JZ in a rust bucket? Don't you mean a 1JZ with a single turbo so he can have 330 rwhp?
:nono:
New bearings always make a car ride nicer(and quiter). Others will be jealous.
Looking good still!
Not the only one!
Your description fits the intention perfectly. Only problem for Toyota was, those who wanted that kind of car bought something else. Those that couldn't afford a Supra seemed to want it for performance, when there were much better bang for the buck deals.
No. He has it backwards. At WOT, the ECU looks at all the sensors except the oxygen and adjusts injection duration off of that. Yes that is open loop. In closed loop, the ECU uses the oxygen sensor to adjust injection duration.
Yes and no on the timing. Timing is retarded with the STA signal, but you have it turned up. Considering all the people that run advanced, I don't think it is the problem, even though it is a problem.
Is the cold start injector time circuit working right? I would think about fuel, or more...
