Is there a throttle body I can use that doesn't have the coolant lines or the vacuum lines on it? I'm not using either and I like my stuff to be as clean as possiable?
Any ideas?
as you can see, the non turbo picture does not have the nipple coming out on the side, which is capped anyway (just another peice of rubber to break and leak coolant everywhere)
on the picture of the TURBO pipe (thanks Justin727) it has that nipple, everything else is exactly the same.
I have no input on that fact, but I have heard that stuff works really well. Always have been weary of putting it in my engine though....
you said on SF you put in new injectors. How do you know those injectors are good/clean/working correctly?
I had an NA engine and a Turbo engine sitting side-by-side. My Dad and I were discussing the stupid nipple cap on the coolant pipe that wraps around the back of the engine behind the firewall. I noticed on the NA it didn't have that cap. I was like, Whoa, Cool.
Anyway, I just wanted to...
Since he's not online at the moment: Its a Golden Eagle Vacuum Manifold. they're between 50-60 shipped. Nice unit. Mine should be here anyday, right Ideal? ;)
my buddy works for Travis Pattern, a foundry. So, nothing.
it was cool to walk through the place and see litterally thousands upon thousands of comppressor housings. They machine the compressor housings for pretty much any size turbo
I can take pictures of what I'm going to do but it wont' be for a bit, I can't seem to find a head that isn't warped.
All I'm going to run is FPR, BOV, Heater VSV and Cruise Control. Maybe PS Idle up, we'll see.
also boost gauge/controller
No VSVs, no egr or charcoal canister...
I just had a buddy wheelabrate/sand blast some stuff for me to prep it for powdercoating...
not the manifolds obviously, just did those to make 'em pretty
See, I've heard from pretty much everyone that you don't need the VSV for the FPR, do you have a reason why you do?
The only effect of getting rid of the FPR VSV is a few more cranks to start when its hot. True? No?
I didn't see one on carbonfibrefx.com????
its cheaper than suprasport here: http://www.jscspeed.com/mk3/mk3_index.html?/mk3/mk3.htm
that's where I was going to get mine
and i would never run without a cover on the gears
That's a good reason to run it that way, however, it doesn't provide me with a reason not to run the setup I am planning, which is using the kit I posted a picture of before. I can't imagine that would change the pressure at all, or have a single negitive side effect... although that's why...
Does anyone have a picture of an engine with the clear upper timing cover with red cam gears/
That's the way I'm going to have mine setup, I'd just like to se pics before hand
