I got something kinda the same at high boost (16+ psi). I'm running a Lex/550 set up with a Aeromotive FPR. I installed a Walbro FP and it fixed the problem w/ ~30 psi on the FRP (vac line connected). I still hit fuel cut at +18 psi boost :icon_conf
I don't have the Greddy, but I did pretty extensive mods to a stock '89 bumper (see pic). I have a TruCool tranny cooler w/ Spal fan under the drivers side and use the pass side as a cold air intake...didn't want the stock fog lights to block the airflow. So, I used Oplilux (Hella) after...
The VSV that controls the FPR is part of the "Fuel Pressure Control System"...it has a harness connection to the ECU labeled VSV2.

To be honest...I'm not real sure of the function, but it's not part of the EGR system. That might be...
Follow-up:
This discussion got me thinking, so I looked it up in the TSRM here:

The fuel pressure with the vac hose disconnected should be 33-40 psi for the GTE motor and 23-30 psi with the vac hose connected to the VSV. This is...
Yeah...bugs the crap out of me too. Thought it might be the seals and/or the support tabs on the hatch. Replaced both and it's still there. Can't find the buzz...it only happens at certain times.
I do get a rumbling noised from the center bearing. Got a 3.9 LSD with a TRD casing I need to...
I was having a problem approaching 18 psi boost (I hit fuel cut at ~ 20 psi); the motor would "hesitate" kinda like a mini fuel cut, but only for a split second. Also had the following readings at 18 psi:
AFR ~ 13.5 Idle was 14.5, normal cruise 14.5
EGT 750 deg C (~ 1380 deg F) at boost...
Yeah! I get that buzz too...only at certain rpm, mostly in the 50-60 mph range on the highway. Kinda sounds like a resonance based on the exhaust note. You got a Blitz NUR Cat-back?
Hey thanks! I thought it was something that sounded like "Rubic" LOL
Yeah, the guys car I saw it on was veerrry old school...had his '89 since it was new. He's a master mechanic; loves to adjust and fiddle with that stuff. Knows what he's talking about though...he's the only guy I'll let...
If it's a clicking sound, you might be hearing your new injectors :naughty:
If you're getting normal oil pressure like in the past, it's probably not a problem.
Aggghhh...wouldn't it be nice to be able to go to the parts store and buy an alternator that WORKED. You spend the time fixing your car and install a "NEW" part that doesn't friggin work...then you get to re-do it all over again.
Well...done venting...thanks for the help guys!
