Actually it's probable it isn't, just that blowing with the key off narrows it down quite a bit. If it only blows with the key on it could be lots of things. Bad VSVs, idle speed control valve, even a problem with the fuel pump. Disconnect one thing at a time until it holds or put a light bulb...
Shorts usually cause that kind of thing alright ;)
Check your O2 sensor wiring. Melting against the exhaust manifold is somewhat common and will cause this. So does chaffed wiring at the rear of the intake manifold. If it blows with the key off it's not going to be the O2 sensor wiring...
Well, is the wetness coolant? A leaky core can cause it. So can a plugged AC drain hose but in that case it'll be just water. Based on your loss of coolant it's likely the core though. Much fun fixing it.
As for the holes these days it's common for HVAC techs to inspect an evap for leaks using...
Dumbo: If the lamp lights when grounded the power side has to be good.
John: He wouldn't have power to +B and +B1 unless the EFI fuse was good and the main relay energized. That the main relay is closed also shows the ECU is powered (and alive to some extent) since the on signal for the...

This time check everything (including BATT) at the ECU while referencing the measurements to E1. No ground (it comes from the intake manifold), no workie. Got ground? Then the connector or the box itself is bad...
The car has two antennas, one in the hatch glass and the other a retractable mast. The stock radio switches between them for best reception. It's called a diversity antenna system. If you click on the Cygnus part number and scroll down you'll see it mentioned as "diver city" antenna, one of many...
The first cat (the one in the down pipe on a stock exhaust) is for warm up emissions. Since the Cali ASM test is done hot you don't need it. They could bust you on the visual for not having it but that's unlikely. What you do need is a working EGR and a stoichiometric feed gas going into a...
More properly known as a hydraulic accumulator. A device that stores fluid under pressure from a system and releases it back into the system when needed. For automotive applications they can be used in a few different ways.
Knock sensor not involved unless you dicked some other wiring up. You said you have a boost leak. In case it's also leaking vacuum (I should be slapped for saying that) fix it. Have you measured vacuum at idle? Regardless, a vacuum problem can't set a 41. Will the engine rev above 2000 rpm?
41 shouldn't cause a rough idle. The vacuum leak would though.
Time to break out a meter. 41 is caused by 1) An open (more than 4.8 volts) or shorted (less than 100 mv) VTA signal or 2) A shorted IDL circuit combined with a VTA of more than 2.5 volts. You should also be getting a 51 in that...
They've always been a substandard battery but I gave up trying to convince people of it long ago. The guy on SF was wrong about one thing though: Interstate doesn't make them. Optima is a Johnson Controls product. Btw your problem only appears to be solved. It'll be back in time...
