It's not? How so? ;)
OP: The point being made is boost leaks cause a measured increase in airflow while accordion leaks cause a measured decrease. Boost leaks have been metered...accordion leaks are pirate. The EFI system responds to each differently.
Me. I'm considered high mileage. I was once low mileage, full of piss and vinegar, but now it takes a lot to swell my seal and even then I'm not as stout as I once was.
It'll happen to you ;)
Try a strip of coarse sandpaper Jon. It's what I use on the rare occasion a better grip is needed. They usually come off by hand though and that's with leaving them on for two OCIs. Then again I never tighten them anywhere near 3/4 turn.
Btw those plastic cap wrenches are what, $2? ;)
Whats to convert? The values either fall within the TSRM limits or they don't. That said:
1) IDL is either bad or the TPS isn't adjusted correctly with the .9 mm feeler. The reading at that point should be infinity like the book says. Likely needs adjustment.
2) Assuming the measurements...
I'm guessing he's talking not about the gear but entire remaned CPSs which are available from several sources. As long as the gear is OK they likely do what IJ said and reuse it. No big deal doing so. I've done it several times.
As I've pointed out before there must be at least one diameter upstream of the laminar flow screen for it to work correctly. Not to mention the fan is nearby. The usual symptom is unstable idle but 31 is not out of the question. Put a filter on it...
You appear a little confused. Fuel cut will set 34 and your code may well be old but the symptoms you describe indicate a boost leak you now have, something that will also set 34. Or maybe I'm the one confused. Either way best thing to do is what you said: clear the code and drive the car again...
The 87 mod is bad in that it defeats the fog fuse and transfers the entire lamp load to the tail light circuit. It also interlocks the fogs to the tails. If that's desired why not connect the fog relay to Intergration Relay #2 so you could still make use of the light auto-off function already...
Well, you must have screwed the pooch somewhere. Should be easy to fix though. The red/green from the fog switch picks up the white/black defogger ground while the red/black from the relay picks up the cig lighter feed at the fuse. Not the way I would have done it but stone simple nonetheless...
