thinking about adding a second oil cooler VW style

The problem with a coolant type is it puts additional thermal load on the coolant system. Fine if you have excess capacity...on a 7M, usually not the case though. The engine tends to run a bit hot. Using a larger air/oil cooler helps reduce the thermal load on the coolant system and rid the...

thinking about adding a second oil cooler VW style

Not a big fan of the coolant-to-oil type...a bigger air cooler is a better choice.

thinking about adding a second oil cooler VW style

I need some more info on how this works. Is it an adapter you plan on replacing the stock filter head with? Or, is it some kind of cooler?

    adding second oil cooler

That's odd...if the return is on the top fitting, it should not drain the coolers to the block. Yes, the CM filter has an anti-drain back valve, but no bypass valve.

    adding second oil cooler

No worries on 1 psi ;) This may still allow oil from the coolers to the block. On thing you may want to go is swap the top/bottom cooler T-fitting...make the top fitting the return to the block. That way all you will lose is part of the oil in the top return line. The coolers should...

    Weirdest Idling Problem...

Pull the EFI fuse, drive the car and re-check the codes.

Sputtering at 15psi+?? also Profec B issue

They can, but usually only under extended high RPM runs. For a relatively stock set-up the iridiums are fine to use. SF - Get a multimeter and test your plug wires and coils per the ignition section in the TSRM.

Your FP is high...drop it down to 30 psi vac on. Check the TSRM specs to see what it should be vac off. Concerning the plugs - I'm just telling you what I know about the Autolites and I'm not there to see what else you may or may not have done. To be honest, I never have understood why guys...

starting issues after pulling codes from ecu

Sure you jumped the correct diagnostic terminals? You can blow the EFI fuse if you don't...suggest you check it.

Sputtering at 15psi+?? also Profec B issue

The problem I've seen with the 3923's is with after market wires...less so with stock. The solution is to use NGK copper plugs vs the Autolites. Is that FP with the vac line on or off? Do you get an FP increase when you disconnect the vac line? FP with the line disconnected?

    Koen - Phoenix ;) 92nsx - That's what I meant by "time switch"...a bad choice of words.

    (sigh) blowing efi fuse

Another why do it thread: How to install window relay/timmer

The ECU has nothing to do with controlling the power windows...it's a pretty simple circuit. Start by looking at this: http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?S=Main&P=094 Wiring a time switch from the battery to terminal 1 (replace gauge fuse power) of the Power Main...

Autolite 3923's are 1/8" shorter than stock length...your plug wires might not be making good contact and cause an arc. Where is your fuel pressure set?

2 THINGS-opinions on ISC and who's still running them, and what are these connectors?

Guess it works for YOU Seth...might not be the case for someone else though ;)

2 THINGS-opinions on ISC and who's still running them, and what are these connectors?

Just so long you realize you will lose warm-up (fast-idle), electrical load, and A/C load idle-up control without an ISCV on a stock ECU.

2 THINGS-opinions on ISC and who's still running them, and what are these connectors?

Ummm....because the stock ECU uses it to control idle? ;) Yes you can remove the coolant lines from the ISCV. The only thing that may happen (remote) is it will ice up with the right OAT and humidity.

    Aftermarket Auto Trans cooler?

You should be able to fit that B&M cooler just fine...it's a bit longer than the one I have mounted (with a fan) in the same location, but I don't think that will be a problem. It won't over cooler either...the B&M has a fan thermo switch that comes on at 160 degs. It's difficult to over...
