    Best oil for the 7mgte

I think you should read this concerning break-in ;) http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48993 From what info I can get, Lucas is a Grp III oil. Like I said earlier in this thread, if you want to run a Grp III oil use Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30. Lucas is a middle of the road oil...

Oil filter SPARKLY CLEAN! after oil change WTF!!!

RPS - Is there any oil inside the inner tube at all? Did you cut the outside case off the filter to see if there was any oil on the outside pleats? Reason I ask: Toyota OEM filters have the bypass valve on the dome end...if it is stuck, it will allow oil in the outside chamber then exit out...

Oil filter SPARKLY CLEAN! after oil change WTF!!!

Using the stock filter head I assume (i.e. no oil filter relocation circuit)? What kind of filter?

    Excess metal removal

That is obvious. (sorry - but the responses IJ quoted just do not make sense) Looks like you had your mind made up to begin with, so why even ask? My opinion is that cross member is structural...most likely there to stiffen the frame against twist/side loads and (more important)...

    550cc injectors?

Yes...how convenient. The 7M uses top feed.

    bad clutch /a tranny whine

RP contains friction modifiers meant for an LSD...it's too slippery for a tranny (plus a couple other details). Use Red Line MT-90 and be happy.

    Excess metal removal

And, it's structural to the forward frame. I agree, it's carrying weight reduction way too far.

Go by relative position on the terminal block per this pic: Make sure theres a good connection between the terminals...paperclip wire should work.

    Best oil for the 7mgte

Using the OCI method you follow, WalMart SuperTech is just fine. In fact, it's a pretty decent oil.

    Jza70 oil cooler

A pic would help, but it sounds like the power steering cooler found on later model cars.

    Best oil for the 7mgte

Topping off your oil is generally enough, especially a turbo motor that will use oil as a matter of normal ops (you're adding oil every few weeks).

    Best oil for the 7mgte

You're welcome Kangae. It's no wonder though with just about every shop around drilling the 3K OCI in our heads...it's just not true...another plot to separate you from your hard earned $$$. Another one is "when your oil turns dark, it's time to change it"...another myth. Heck it's just...

Deabionni - Thank you...I had a senior moment and misplaced it (who are you again?) :D You are definitely not stepping on my toes! I knew there was an SAE paper around here somewhere making a very good case against changing your oil too often ;)

    Best oil for the 7mgte

Some dispersant's contain sulfide, alkenylsuccinimides is one of those used in synthetic oils. Colloidal calcium carbonate is used as detergent in motor oil formulation. Once these chemicals are reduced as a result of use, the interaction with phosphates help to form an oil film that resulted...
