They offer rebuild kits for a bunch of Toyota turbos, including CT12, and CT12B. (For those of you who don't know, CT12A = CT12)
Has anybody tried these?
I saw an article of a guy making somewhere in teh 500whp range with stock internals. The 1G is an extremely strong motor, like JZ strong. It just has less displacement.
Nope.
TTE: It's low enough to JUST scrape on those concrete blocks in parking spaces. I've scraped it on a few things, and the most that's happened is the bottom's been pushed up maybe 1/4"
The car performance wise is PERFECT. I love it :)
Unfortunately, it now seems to be blowing oil. I think it's my turbo. It seems to have a slight death whine. :(
Damn, $60 for half a day? The local track here does $25, from 5pm-11pm. that covers drag, and auto-x.
With that being said, just use your normal street tires at the track. Go through a set, and you'll have an idea how long they will last on your car.
The last build of my 1JZ failed in an impressive way.
The motor had a hard life before I got it. This was evident by the knock it had on startup. when I went single, I decided to rebuild the bottom end. Proper sized bearings fixed the knock, but I forgot to change the thrust washers. The...
If teh 2-wire isn't hooked up, your ECU can't do temperature enrichments. If teh 1-wire isn't hooked up, your temp gauge doesn't work.
That's good to know that you say the 1-wire is compatible with the A70 cluster. I'll just hack off teh 1JZ end on my harness, and splice in the 2JZ...
I don't want rear armrest boxes. It'll pull my soundstage back too much.
I don't NEED 8" drivers, I WANT 8" drivers. Although a 6.5" is a decent driver, it lacks the output lower down. I don't want to run my sub up to 80hz, I want to be able to play my doors at high levels down to the 65hz...
No, you don't need to re-locate the hood latch, you just need to make a custom support for the bottom of the latch so it doesn't flap around.
Sorry about these pics, it's really hard to take pictures of the intercooler.
Just so you know, this is a JZA70, I'm not sure if anything is different...
No, the rolling it off the truck didn't hurt it :)
It was the knocking the engine stand over, and having it land on the pump that did it.
Anyways, yeah, I noticed that the timing cover went around the pulley. No biggie, I made a really easy to use puller, and got it all fixed up now. Took me...
I'm having pipe dreams of a 3-way front stage in my car right now, mainly because I'm bored. I'm curious as to if I would be able to put a pair of 8" drivers somewhere, like the inner sides of the footwells, on the sides of the radio. I'm not at home right now, so I can't take measurements...
